Toughened/Tempered glass
Toughened glass is strengthened glass where by the glass has been industrially heated and slowly cooled increasing the strength to up to 5 times. If broken the glass will break into small relatively harmless pieces, greatly reducing chance of injury.

Laminated glass
Laminated glass is a type of safety glass which holds together when shattered. It is made from 2 or more pieces of glass held together by a polymer interlayer, keeping the glass together even when broken.
